LGBTQ+ History Month 2024 is going to be quite a lively one for everyone involved in our LGBTQ+ Community Archive. As we head towards February though, this display has opened at The Box featuring contributions from us and lots of the other amazing queer groups operating in the city. It’ll be open throughout February so make sure you get along to explore some more of the city’s queer past, present and future. A big thank you to The Box Plymouth for supporting this exhibition.
LGBT+ History Month 2025
Here at Pride in Plymouth, we’ve always been very interested in LGBTQ+ history, as you’ll have seen through the development of our Community Archive. As a result, you won’t be surprised to hear that we’re looking forward to the 20th LGBT+ History month happening this February. The theme for this year is “Activism and Social Change” and Schools Out team, who drive the event each year, are focussing on five historical figures who they feel fit the description of activists – Octavia Hill, Ivor Cummings, Annie Kenney, Charlie Kiss and Olaudah Equiano. We’ll be looking at each one of these in the run up to the month and also sharing some of the exciting activities that we have planned in the city.
