Pride Pop Ups

For a decade from 2012 to 2022, much of our work was focussed around providing Plymouth’s Annual Pride Event.  We began with in Devonport Park in 2012 and 2014, then moved to Plymouth Hoe in 2015 where we remained until 2021.  The only gaps here was Plymouth Pride 2019, which had to cancelled due to extreme weather forecasts, and, with Plymouth Pride 2020, taking place during the pandemic, this event was transformed into an online event called Pride Rewind. 

After a decade, Plymouth Pride 2022 felt like going home somewhat with the parade beginning from Devonport Park and a two-day event at Albion Rugby club which allowed us a second day to celebrate a little more all the other work we do with our LGBTQ+ Community Archive, advocacy and outreach, education and Training and engagement.

We had a strong feeling that some of that import community work was being lost in the demands of putting on the annual event so we stepped away from that after Plymouth Pride 2022 and our friends at Plymouth Pride CIC have picked up that baton and now present an annual Plymouth Pride event at Central Park which we support however we can. 

In terms of events for ourselves, we are now looking at smaller, more bespoke events happening across the city as part of our Pride 365 campaign where we acknowledge and encourage how important it is to be proud of who you are every day of the year.
