Pride in Plymouth presented Plymouth’s first Winter Pride Ball held at Devonport Guildhall on Saturday 8th February 2014.
As part of the UK’s LGBT History Month events the ball fitted the 2014 theme of ‘Music’ as guest were entertained by Louise Parker in the Mayor’s Parlour as they enjoyed drinks and nibbles whilst pride volunteers continued to work on setting up the main hall.
In a short space of time the main hall was transformed from the day time event into a space for cabaret and fun.
The evening was hosted by the fabulous Amber Dextrous who introduced Topping and Butch both acts were very well received and worked well together. We utilised the cells below the hall as dressing rooms so the acts had some interesting art to look at as they changed.
Despite a few hitches with sound the evening was enjoyed by all the guest and there was a resounding YES when the audience was asked whether we should do it again.
