Pride in Plymouth and all of our events are organised by a dedicated team of volunteers.
To help us deliver an even bigger event for the LGBTQ+ communities and the city we will need more volunteers on the day. There will be a series of event planning meetings from April 2015 through to the event. You can also join us at our informal monthly social ‘eXpresso Yourself‘ which takes place from 6.30pm on the third Wednesday of the month at Plymouth Arts Centre.
We have for the second year been successful in securing a small grant from Plymouth Drake Foundation Training Fund to deliver two training sessions in July for volunteer marshals and stewards.
The training will cover:
- Roles and responsibilities of a steward’
- Event Health and Safety
- An overview of the event (layout, specific jobs, and what needs to be done)
- Correct use of our digital radios
- Responsible Alcohol Retailing (for bar stewards)
- Stage stop, evacuation and dispersal
As a volunteer on the day you will receive a FREE Crew T-Shirt, Lunch Voucher, complementary non alcoholic drinks all day, and £10 towards a taxi fare home (if you have given over four hours of your time and work beyond 9pm).
We also support volunteers seeking employment by providing references and assistance with job applications.
If you would like to volunteer to help make Plymouth Pride 2015 even bigger and better please complete the form below and will be in touch very soon.
