Pride Rewind a virtual pride that took place on Saturday 8th August 2020 was a mix of live broadcast and pre-recorded messages from many key people.
in this video Charles Courtenay 19th Earl of Devon explains how Pride in Plymouth has helped share the story of William the 3rd Viscount Courtenay ‘a gay earl’ who later in life was forced to live in ‘exile’. The current Earl, his lovely wife and team at Powderham Castle are very keen to provide a safe space for us all to enjoy. History has not always been as accepting there have been times wen it was preferred that this part of the family’s history was kept hidden and so the estate, at one stage, was not used for ‘same sex’ civil partnerships. Today Powderham is a place that’s very proud of it’s LGBT+ heritage.
A Message of support from Final Frontier – supporing LGBT+ characters in comics and the wider skyfi community.
A message from Steve Stavham CEO St Lukes in Plymouth talking about their role in end of life care and the importance of the partnership with Pride in Plymouth so we can offer compassionate support to all at that difficult time.
Lindsy Endean from the Mayflower 400 explains how important our connection with the city’s past can be in shaping our future.
