In line with Government Guidelines we are cancelling social meetings and activities such as our bi-weekly coffee group eXpresso Yourself and the Make for Pride workshops. We will reschedule the ‘LGBTQ Mental Health workshop’ due to take place on Sat 18th April to a later date in the year. We will also delay the roll out of our LGBTQ literature project announced in February.
As far as the main Summer Pride Festival is concerned we are currently still working towards holding the event on Saturday 8th August 2020. However we are having discussions with the council and other partner organisations regarding a contingency date later in the summer should we have to postpone.
The Pride in Plymouth Directors are following developments closely and as precautionary measure for the foreseeable future we will be holding frequent virtual meetings. As soon as it is safe to do so we will relaunch eXpresso Yourself and the Plymouth Pride Planning meetings.

We will continue to support the LGBTQ Asylum Seekers in Plymouth with regular communication and face to face meetings as required.

The theme for this years Pride Parade is 1970 this is to mark the 50th Anniversary of the first modern day GAY RIGHTS march held in New York in 1970. This march and protest was held one year on from the Stonewall uprising. Even though we have delayed the Make for Pride workshops you could take some time to plan your costume jot down a few ideas, sketch them out and if you have materials start making.
