Bringing People Together

In the Voluntary Sector & Community

Pride in Plymouth are very proud to support other Voluntary Sector Organisations with both internal training and  participation in various community events across the city. We continue to build links with this massive network that so important to our city and the cultural and diverse offering we have. We love taking the archive to the streets and parks - where we meet so many interesting people and gather more of our hidden past.

In the Workplace

Pride in Plymouth can not only bring the archive into your workplace with a display in the staff canteen or foyer but we can also support your diversity and equality training in relation to the protected strands under sexual orientation and transgender. We can facilitate workshops, give talks and help you with publicity and promotion that demonstrates your commitment to being an inclusive employer and service provider.

In Higher Education

Pride in Plymouth have taken the archive to freshers fairs, provided LGBT History Month displays and worked with the higher education establishments in Plymouth on various projects. We also offer workshops, bespoke talks, and work with the various LGBT student and staff groups to organise and promote events both on and off campus. For more information about the services we can offer please contact us.

In Schools and Youth Groups

Pride in Plymouth can take the archive into schools and youth groups where we can discuss with the young people some of the history surrounding LGBT communities and, in particular, the history that had been played out for the people of Plymouth. These sessions are around 1 hour but can take longer as the young people often have many questions relating to this previously hidden history. Contact us to find out more about what we can offer you.
